Shane Coen, Principal and Founder of Coen + Partners, is recognized as an Emerging Voice of 2009 by the Architectural League of New York/January 2009
The Architectural League of New York created the annual Emerging Voices lecture series in 1982 to recognize and encourage architects who are beginning to achieve prominence in the profession. The series focuses primarily on built work, at a variety of scales, and is structured to reflect the diversity of contemporary practice–geographically, stylistically, and ideologically. Heralded as an important benchmark in the profession of architects by the Architect’s Newspaper, the honor is not often bestowed upon landscape architects. In the award’s 27 year history 10 landscape architects have received the honor.
Shane presented the firm’s work on March 5th at the Urban Center, 457 Madison Avenue in New York City. Also lecturing that evening was architect Derek Dellekamp, of Dellekamp Arquitectos, from Mexico City.
