Construction has been completed for Coen + Partners’ Warroad Land Port of Entry project. The project is an iconic LEED-certified United States Border Patrol facility located at the United States and Canada border at Warroad, Minnesota. The collaborative design team, led by Julie Snow Architects, prioritized regional sustainability and site sensitivity through the use of materials and forms responding to the unique vernacular of the northern borderlands. The Warroad Land Port of Entry design team received an ‘On the Boards’ Citation from the Government Services Administration for the innovative design.
Construction is anticipated in 2011 for the Van Buren Land Port of Entry, a collaborative design led by Julie Snow Architects at the United States and Canada border in Van Buren, Maine. The site is characterized by linear interventions – earthen mounds, water channels, and treelines – that recall site and regional histories.
