Coen + Partners has begun the construction phase for a private residence designed in close collaboration with lead architect Michael Maltzan Architecture. The property, rich with unique natural features, is bordered by water on three sides. Geometries formed by the water’s edge, topography and tree lines inform Coen + Partners’ design and placement of circulation, structures, and the owner’s exterior sculpture. Additionally, a comprehensive plan for a new production olive orchard introduces the concept of organic urban agriculture as a foil to the traditional idea of garden estate. Construction of the project is to be completed in 2013.
