Progressive Architecture Citation Submittal
In 2003 Coen + Partners was awarded a Progressive Architecture citation for Mayo Plan #1, a new residential community located in Rochester Township, Olmstead County immediately southwest of Rochester, Minnesota. The challenge to the design team was to elevate the existing project to a national model for innovative residential planning and design while working within the constraints of the approved plat. The 2003 PA Award represents only the second time a landscape architecture studio has won this prestigious architecture award in its fifty-plus year history.

It’s got a social consciousness about it. For this to get recognition-that you can creatively construct a neighborhood within existing zoning ordinances-seems like an excellent message to send out.
