Hannah’s passion for urban design and planning stems from growing up amidst the dense cityscape of Hong Kong, which fostered a natural fascination with concealed urban systems and sustainable design. She finds inspiration by diving into data and unraveling complex environments, using design to adapt established vernacular knowledge for the modern world, and studying how design complements and evolves within communities over time.
Hannah received both her Bachelors in Landscape Architecture and Bachelors in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and received the Outstanding Student Award (IL-ASLA) in 2019 and the ASLA Certificate of Honor in 2020, as well as working for the ASLA’s Policy Committee during her time at the University of Illinois. She is also a LEED Green Associate and advocates for Environmental Justice through a professional practice network.
Outside of work, Hannah finds serenity in walking through the expansive Midwestern landscape and its many forest trails. She also enjoys baking and trying new recipes from a wide range of cuisines.
