Leo Robleto Costante

Senior Associate

Leo’s diverse background and experiences have shaped the way he comes up with ideas. After working inside informal settlements in Venezuela and a refugee camp in Zimbabwe, Leo learned the importance of designs that balance between nature and people. He firmly believes that landscape architecture is poised to become the essential tool through which infrastructure, nature, and everyday life adapt to the current and future challenges that the world faces. He always advocates for innovation and taking risks, two elements provide the spark for creating the unique. His ideal landscape is one that has an unexpected moment of awe—a memorable experience that makes people want to return to the same place again. He believes in making landscapes that are elegant, fun, and functional—ingredients that lead to timeless design.

Following a Bachelor of Urban Planning degree from the University of Cincinnati, Leo obtained a Masters of Arts in Landscape Urbanism from the Architectural Association in London and an Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a licensed landscape architect and regular guest in academia. Leo has written several articles on landscape architecture’s potential inside the informal city. Professionally, Leo has eight years of experience and has also worked in numerous international settings.

When he is not traveling or being active, Leo dedicates his free time to perfecting his cooking, trying to learn the piano, and learning another language
